Why We Give.

A generous giver is one who gives with a joyful attitude and a compassionate heart. Giving is the channel through which God’s love, compassion, and generosity can flow through us. When we give, we become more of who God designed us to be. Created in God’s image, we are made to live in connection and community with others and to share a portion of what we have with others. Simply put, giving changes the lives of not only those who receive, but also those who give.

We see that the miracle of abundance begins with a boy who generously shares five loaves of bread and two fish. Through this expression of generosity, over 5,000 are fed. [John 6:1-14]

Generosity is an instrument of God’s reconciliation and inclusion. Because generosity is God’s antidote to the greed and hoarding that lead to scarcity, it is the means by which God brings forth the abundant life that Jesus promises.

Loomis Basin UCC is rooted in justice, formed in faith, and focused on community. We are a church called by Jesus to commit to eliminating injustice, bigotry, and racism, and to work for human rights and equality for all people. It is through your generous giving that we are able to carry out the mission and vision of our church.
